Perindopril And Simvastatin Simvastatin, Perindopril And Amlodipine.?

Simvastatin, perindopril and amlodipine.? - perindopril and simvastatin

Why would anyone in all three? My father is not very talkative, and the reasons. I researched and these drugs appear to be high blood pressure, cholesterol, and possibly heart problems. But it is not competent in this area, I wondered if someone could give me a general idea of why someone in all three. I understand that the best answer is a guess, but give me a better understanding. Thank you for your time.

Jay - I hate to disagree with you - were the answers of the respondents in the past regularly. However, I must agree with his commentary (actually several) that "blood pressure increases the workload of the heart and blood vessels ...."
Please do not be hurt by this, but it is not. In other words, "blood pressure" no impact on the workload of the heart.

In other words, the workload of the heart "is exactly das It is the work done with the heart" and is measurable. It can be calculated, which can be expressed in two ways, either (1) CO x Pm. and / or (2) instead of CO x TPR.
........ Everything is calculated in a way that the answer is the same and is independent of "Blood pressure.
Who is "blood" does not change, because it neither increased nor decreased.

Why? - Well, because TPR rest of the world is essentially the same (about 0.02mmsHg/ml/min), and the world average CO / min at rest about 5 l /, and Darcy's law (or the equation of the mean pressure, or The law of the flow, whatever name you prefer), this means that the real blood Pm (central aortic mean pressure, the actual delivery pressure of the voyage of the aortic valve) must be 100 mm / Hg As you can see, no matter what the systolic and diastolic pressure are, as long as their weighted average of 100 Thus, the cardiac work 100 x 5ltres have when you "take blood pressure" than I (195 / 105) or a young adult in good health.

As I said, please consider doing these remarks in the spirit in which they do so, and I would be very interested and grateful for the comments.
Best regards

Here is a general idea ...

Simvastatin (Zocor), used for cholesterol. Cholesterol accumulates in the arteries and can cause a heart attack.

Amlodipine (Norvasc) helps blood pressure and chest pain reduces the chance of a heart attack.

Perinolpril (aceon) helps blood pressure and is used in patients with coronary artery disease to prevent heart attacks.

Sometimes drugs are not sufficient to achieve blood pressure control in patients with doctors to prescribe combinations of results.

It seems that the doctor does his father utmost to help with drugs.

Simvastatin in reducing cholesterol levels. Perindopril and amlodipine, ACE inhibitors and calcium channel blockers for hypertension, respectively. It is quite normal that a drug for high blood pressure and cholesterol-lowering medication at the same time. But I do not see why your father in 2 types of antihypertensive drugs should be at the same time.

Although these drugs are often used together are safe, careful monitoring of systemic blood pressure is recommended during administration, especially during the first two or three weeks of treatment.

The specific functions of these drugs on the presecribed --

Simvastatin is used with a proper diet to treat high cholesterol in the blood. The use of this product have, can help medical problems caused by substances such as clogging of blood vessels. This medicine may be used to prevent certain types of heart disease in patients with risk factors for heart disease. It works by blocking an enzyme the body needs to make cholesterol, thus the amount of cholesterol in the blood.

Perindopril is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure increases the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for long, heart and arteries function correct. This can damage the blood vessels of the brain, heart and kidneys, causing stroke, heart failure or kidney failure. High blood pressure may increase the risk of myocardial infarction. These problems can occur less frequently when blood pressure is controlled.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker for the treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain) and blood pressure. Amlodipine affects the movement of calcium into heart cells and blood vessels. As a result, amlodipine relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart while reducing the workload.

High blood pressure increases the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for too long, can not have the heart and arteries to function properly. This can damage the blood goSSEL brain, heart and kidneys, causing stroke, heart failure or kidney failure. High blood pressure may increase the risk of myocardial infarction. These problems can occur less frequently when blood pressure is controlled.

All of these drugs in May occur singly or in combination with other drugs to treat various symptoms of the disease, and heart disease. Your doctor must have decided, taking into account various aspects, and it's ok, because I think your father is a chronic cardiac patient. For your information, I would add that I'll take both simvastatin and perindopril. So do not be afraid to consult and give the right dose for the patient and doctor. --
